Who has got your back at work?

Oasis Associates Jane Bytheway and Sarah Bryson facilitate the Oasis Skills for Change programme and in the short film above they talk about the need for positive working relationships. A transcript of the film is below:

So when relationships are going well at work, we feel much more supported and connected with each other and we can really feel like people have got our backs and we know that we've got people that we can turn to for help if things aren't going so well.

Yes, and on the back of that when we're feeling good and you know we've got that sense of well-being, it also means that we've got more energy, we're more motivated to do the things that we're there to do.

We've got more positivity, and I would say we're just better at making decisions, because the relationships are working well.

I don't know about you, you know, you could have those times when you're working with someone and just the energy and the ideas flow because you've got a really great relationship with them.

Yes absolutely, and it also makes it easier when things are not going so well, so if you're facing a challenging situation, or if you just need somebody to support you through something that's not going so well, it's much better to have better relationships.

Yes definitely - it's really important.
